Hi,

Super resolutions works very well with groovyume.

I use groovyume only for mame now, but I plan to use it for Atari 5200, Sega Genesis . (Still have to undesrtand how to configure ume in Hyperspin/Hyperlaunch).

For the moment, I use kat5200 and Fusion.

But since I upgraded from "magic" resolutions" to "super resolutions', both emulators can't run the games at their native resolution : I have to set "double size" (it means interlaced res, imo) in both emulators. The result is acceptable, but not as good as native progressive resolutions.

Before running Vmmaker, I've added in the reslist.txt the resolution 320x200@60.00 for a5200, and I copy/pasted the genesis resolutions.

But obviously it doesn't work (under arcadeOSD, 320x200 was marked as not supported though)

What is the exact resolution that I have to  type in rslist for both systems ?

I flashed perfectly well my Sapphire HD4350 using ati Winflash.

Ok thanks.

Hi,

Dunno if I have to report game issues here or on groovymame/groovyume forum.

I've set up super resolutions on my mini cab (CRT TV thru Scart RGB), using a HD4350 and latest CRT emudriver/Vmmaker under windows XP 32 bits.

Most of mame games run perfectly under groovyume 0.154. (I haven't configured other platforms yet).

But Few games won't launch :

- Tapper,
- Road Runner,
- sf2ce,
- Tiger Road.

I know tapper has an exotic interlaced 512x480i @ 30Hz resolution.
But for example, Rampage (which have the same resolution) runs perfectly.

Other games have normal resolutions though, they should run without any problem.

I've tested the roms on my desktop computer and they works fine.

Maybe I should post a log, but I don't remember how to get a log in mame/ume ?

If Recap use a PC monitor, then, what's the use of GroovyMame ?

On my desktop PC, I use normal mame with EmuLoader frontend (+ mamu's icons). I Use this setup for years cause I like the clarity of this FE, along with nice icons from Mamu.

Hey,

I plan to use Groovy UME under Hyperspin (and Hyperlanunch 3) on a mini cabinet I built for my son.
In the cabinet, I use a scart RGB connection on a 15" CRT TV to output from my HD4350 that I just flashed with ATOM 15 utility.

The cab is under Win XP 32 bits, calamity drivers 9.3. Everything works great. (all the stuff is on a cheap 60 GO SSD).

I Installed Hyperspin with default themes@640x480 for Mame, Genesis, SNES, Atari 5200 and Daphne. Everything works great, at native 15 kHz resolutions ! All games look better than the originals !

At begening all was buggy in Hyperspin ; I discoverd that it was mp4 video snap's fault : So I Converted all of them to FLV with emumovies little tool. Everything is so smooth now.

My controls are interfaced with a joystick encoder, so, I installed Joy2key in order to control Hyperspin (joystick support is buggy in Hyperspin) ;

For the moment I use UME only for Mame games, but I plan to use UME for all systems above, except Daphne.

I just have to discover how to configure properly UME for other systems above in Hyperlaunch 3. (I guess I have to use the Mess AHK, but I'm not sure). Also, I doon't know where to put bios roms.

Hi EvilDindon,

Glad to see that it worked!

Regarding super resolutions and their use with emulators other than GroovyMAME/UME, well they certainly won't work. But nothing prevents you from using a mixed mode table, with super resolutions and normal resolutions for other emulators. Just add both to the ReslList.txt file, setting ModeTableMethod_Custom = 0 as usual.

Ok Thanks a lot will try that, until I get UME to work properly under Hyperspin/Hyperlaunch 3.

Yep, Groovy UME is top.

I managed to get it work for mame games under HS/HL3, I just pointed Mame Emulator to UME in Hyperlaunch HQ and worked like it was Mame.

But for other systems (I use atari 5200, snes and Genesis), I don't really know how to proceed. I think I have to tell to HL3 that Mess is UME but don't know if it works. Will try tonight.

Hey,

Just flashed my HD4350 with your new ATOM 15 app, and everything worked great ! (It's under a homemade minicab, with a scart RGB TV inside).

When I saw the rebooting process under 15kHz all way I was just like "wow", He did it !"

I don't even havve to bother to protect the TV from bad frequencies at boot.

Thanks a loooot calamity ! No more need to buy some specific hardware or graphic card to do so (I won't tell which :) )

Now I have to try new driver/Vmmaker/Arcade OSD and super resolutions. (but i dunno if super resolutions will work with some of my emus like kat5200, zsnesw (sailorsat modified) and fusion.

If they are not compatible with super resolutions, I'll focus on the groovyume solution (even if it seems not easy to configure under hyperspin/hyperlaunch).

Anyways, again,  Thanks a lot for all of that Calamity !

Mike from France.
