Me auto respondo, el problema está en la versión 0.161 del mame que tenía un bug en la grabación de los input, cosa que arreglaron en la 162.

Hola calamity, una pregunta...¿para poder grabar las partidas .inp hay que modificar algo en el mame.ini? Lo he intentado desde un mame con interfaz gráfica y me sale pantallazo negro y después se cierra el mame.

Muchas gracias Calamity y Recap me habéis facilitado mucho el trabajo, tanto ahora como con los drivers, arcadeosd, vmmaker y GroovyMame.

Generaré los modelines como el primer log y modificare el custom tal como dices.

genero los modelines SIN marcar los XML Y SORPRESA!!

Esto no es alquimia, tienes que entender lo que hacen las opciones si quieres tener algún control sobre los resultados.

De los logs que has pasado, el único parcialmente correcto es precisamente el primero:

PRIMER .LOG (drivers 9.3 con 2 xml marcados)

Digo parcialmente por lo que comentas de los tirones de sonido. Esto es debido a la diferencia entre el refresco original del juego y el obtenido al forzar al TV a usar 256 líneas en progresivo. Para solucionarlo, tienes dos opciones:

- Activar la opción -multithreading en mame.ini
- Forzar que se active -syncrefresh, incrementando el valor de -syncrefresh_tolerance. Por defecto es 2.0 Hz, cambia este valor a 3.5, por ejemplo.

Que se corte la imagen arriba y abajo no es problema de GroovyMAME, que se limita a hacer lo que tú le pides: sacar 256 líneas en progresivo. El problema es que no ajustas tu TV en consecuencia (menu de servicio, amplitud vertical).

Por otra parte, a tu juicio el comportamiento correcto sería este:

Es decir, estirar el juego a 478 entrelazado, con lo que te evitas el engorro de ajustar la amplitud vertical. Me parece perfecto, por eso la semana pasada te daba una solución para hacer precisamente eso:

Con todo, vuelve a generar los modos tal como los tenías en el primer log, para tener una tabla de resoluciones mínimamente decente.

Hola Calamity, he estado haciendo pruebas con los drivers Catalyst 9.3 te pego los .log del donkey kong.
-El primero es con los dos XML marcados en la pestaña MAME del VMMaker 2.0
(resultado: como antes, se como parte de abajo, además la música del juego va a veces a tirones)

-El segundo es sin XML marcado
(resultado: igual que antes, sigue comiéndose la pantalla y música con saltos)

Ahora bien como con los drivers 9.3 me iba regular he vuelto a instalar los basados en 6.5, genero los modelines SIN marcar los XML Y SORPRESA!! ahora sí me va bien el donkey kong y otros verticales, vamos que no se come la pantalla por debajo y la música va fluída.

De veras que no he tocado nada que no tuviese antes, de hecho lo he dejado como lo tengo siempre pero ahora sí me van bien los juegos, a ver si con los 3 logs tú puedes saber a qué se debe el hecho.

Te pego el último y cuarto log que es el mismo que te pegué hace un par de días que estaba con drivers 6.5 y sin marcar los XML y el juego fallaba, ahora con la misma configuración va bien.

Perdón, no recordaba que estabas en XP. Desde Windows 7 no hace falta reiniciar.

Hola calamity, he hecho lo que me has indicado (marcar los 2 apartados de xml en el apartado mame del vmmaker) y ciertamente te crea muchos más modos de vídeo pero después de reiniciar los juegos verticales me los sigue sacando con la misma resolución que antes, hoy haré más pruebas y te subiré el vmmaker.ini y un log.

El problema es que no has configurado VMMaker para que te genere las resoluciones de MAME. En la pestaña de MAME, márcale que te liste los modos desde el XML de MAME, y que te genere el XML (esto último sólo te hará falta la primera vez, luego lo puedes desactivar porque tarda bastante).

Después de eso, tendrás que tener resoluciones del tipo 400x256, que GroovyMAME seleccionará correctamente.

Hola, he vuelto a instalar los drives basados en Catalyst 6.5 ya que con los 9.3 me daba pantallazo azul el galaxian, cosa que no comprendo cuando tiene la misma resolución que el donkey kong (256 X 224) y éste me iba estupendo.

Con los drivers 6.5 en los juegos Verticales con resolución 256 X 224 tengo switchres 768 X 512i
En los juegos Verticales con resolución 288 X 224 tengo switchres 512 X 480i

Os pego el .log del donkey kong, el vmmaker.ini y el modeline

Si te refieres a los "drivers" basados en Catalyst 6.5 y en 9.3, la hay. Para empezar, el nº de modos que son capaces de generar simultáneamente. Ten en cuenta que tu tarjeta está entre los modelos poco recomendables por limitaciones con el "dot clock"; ¿has visto en el hilo de descarga las indicaciones al respecto?

Y en cualquier caso, crea un "log" con GM y ese juego desde la consola de comandos del SO y cópialo aquí como te ha dicho Calamity (e incluso copia aquí también tu vmmaker.ini entero). Ayuda a que te ayuden...

He estado haciendo pruebas. Por un lado con un pentium 4 con xp 32bits, una ati radeon X1300 tenía instalado los drivers CRT 6,2.
He desinstalado y he instalado los drivers CRT 9.3 ¿qué he conseguido? Por un lado al generar los modelines con vmmaker  2.0 y ejecutar el groovymame el donkey Kong me salía con una resolución perfecta, no se comía nada por debajo. Ahora bien, por el contrario en el galaxian he sacado un pantallazo azul, se oía de fondo pero todo azul.

Hay alguna notable diferencia entre usar los drivers CRT 6,2 y los 9,3 con un xp 32 bits? Que yo sepa es la única diferencia que he modificado y me ha sacado distintos modelines.

Pero no lo tienes dentro de una cabina, ¿verdá? Yo soy muy defensor de los TV --al menos de los Trinitron negros con altavoces traseros de gama media-alta, ya lo sabes-- pero principalmente por la posibilidad de voltearlos(*). Si lo metes en una cabina, te despides de la principal ventaja de aquéllos y de una de las pocas ventajas de las cabinas -- ser el soporte de un monitor de calidad (cuya imagen uno podría preferir a la de la rejilla de apertura de Sony con bastantes argumentos). Ésa era mi extrañeza.

(*)Aunque con criterio, que el paso constante de una posición a otra acaba por desenfocar poco a poco el tubo y es un dolor restaurarlo.


Los Hantarex multi de aquella tanda no salieron muy buenos, se ve, no... A Diego el suyo le ha venido quitando el sueño hasta hace muy poco al menos. Lo de entrar en los servicios (...), de todos modos, puede ser desde infumable si necesitas quitar la carcasa para activarlo hasta razonablemente cómodo si es una mera combinación de botones desde el remoto y éste está en buen estado. Yo, con el de la foto, lo hacía continuamente. Y, si has escogido bien, te da la ventaja sobre los monitores de poder forzar el desentrelazado, que puede ser más que útil incluso más allá de la propia emulación (aunque siempre te puedes hacer con un interfaz RGB para esto, como solución universal).

(Diatriba que me recuerda, por cierto, que estaría bien abordar de una vez el capítulo sobre CRT para aclarar cuestiones que inevitablemente a la gente se le presentan a posteriori... Pena que el día sólo tenga 24 h, eh...)

Yo después de mi experiencia con el Polostar, creo un televisor de los 90 de buena calidad es lo mejor que hay. Tienes la incomodidad de tener que entrar en el menú de servicio, eso sí.

Hola beaches,

Como dice Recap, me parece raro que si varios juegos usan la misma resolución (768x512 según nos comentas), tengas distintos grados de overscan.

Me parece raro además que dkong te coja 512i, cuando este juego lo normal es que saliera en progresivo a 256p, suponiendo que tengas definida esa resolución.

En cualquier caso, y puestos a degradar la imagen, lo mejor si no quieres entrar en el modo de servicio es que limites la resolución vertical progresiva y entrelazada, así:

crt_range0 15625-16200, 49.50-65.00, 2.000, 4.700, 8.000, 0.064, 0.192, 1.024, 0, 0, 192, 240, 448, 480

De esa forma, te aseguras de que GroovyMAME siempre cogerá resoluciones "tamaño NTSC".

Por lo demás, sé que soy un coñazo, pero lo ideal es que acompañéis las consultas con un log de GroovyMAME (groovymame juego -v >juego.txt). De ahí puedo obtener prácticamente toda la información que necesito para diagnosticar un problema.

Muchas gracias recap, como lo de tener una recreativa en modo vertical aún no puede ser pues recurriremos a otra solución pero lo de regular la geometría del televisor no lo veo porque ya la tengo medio decente y por un juego no me merece la pena, yo lo pregunto por si haciendo un .ini en concreto para ese juego lo pudiese solucionar sin tener que afectar al resto.

Si crees que un mensaje no se ha leído o quieres repreguntar, mejor sube el mismo hilo.

Si ambos juegos te usan el mismo modo en Switchres, dado que ambos comparten resolución nativa, ambos deben tener el mismo grado de "overscan", aunque el posicionamiento vertical varíe o te resulte menos idóneo para un juego que para otro. Lo más positivo es que recurras al servicio de tu televisor para variar la geometría [ > ] -- ten en cuenta que estás en el extremo del rango y 512 líneas a esa frecuencia están muy por encima de lo que los TV convencionales consideran "área visible". Aunque lo suyo, desde luego, es que emules el juego en un monitor dispuesto verticalmente, que es como se concibió.
