Topic: Newest AMD Ryzen based APUs with VEGA graphics and crt_emudriver

Hi guys,

what are your thoughts, expectations?

Seeing as the Asrock AB350M Pro4 (or some mini-ITX) is one of the best motherboards out there for the price

and seeing that it has a VGA out.   And seeing that you can play even the newest games like Cuphead with something like that (after all, we are driving really tiny resolutions) and Ryzen 4 cores with or without 8 threads is plenty for emulation.  This could be a IMO potentially a perfect little setup for emulation.

I'll try and get in contact with one magazine to see if I can borrow for a few days the APU when it comes out to test if it works.

Hi MadDuke,

The VEGA graphics won't be supported by current CRT Emudriver (it's a couple of years old driver) but I'm planning to update the package as soon as I have some time.

I'm also looking forward to build one of this APU based machines. My plan is to experiment with UEFI Tool and check if it's possible to modify the embedded BIOS to output 15 kHz.
